Day 1 

  • Arrive in London
  • Private transfer to either the Four Seasons or The Vineyard at Stockcross.
  • Here you will stay at an exclusive 5-star Property which is located only minutes from Downton Abbey’s Highclere Property.
  • Guests can arrange a massage at the spa or look over the 30,000 available bottles of wine.
  • Enjoy a 6 pm welcome reception, drinks and dinner with 5 course tasting menu at local Michelin Starred Relais & Chateaux Property.
  • Stay overnight at either the Four Seasons or The Vineyard at Stockcross.

Day 2  

  • Full English Breakfast of beans, toast, bacon, eggs and grilled tomatoes and all of the traditional fixings.
  • Take a day trip to Oxford, Britain’s oldest university, founded in 1167 by King Henry II.
  • After the tour, the afternoon is spent punting. You will be chauffeured past Oxford’s famous Botanic Gardens, past Magdalen College School fields, through Christ Church Meadows, where Lewis Carroll was teaching students in the mid 19-centuary, when he wrote the famous Alice Through the Looking Glass and Alice in Wonderland. Then pass St. Hilda’s College gardens and back to the Boathouse.
  • Mingle over afternoon drinks at a private thatched cottage as guests of one of Britain’s most prominent luxury travel experts and her retired Brigadier General husband before heading back to the hotel.
  • This evening is up to you to explore as you have dinner on your own.
  • Spend the night at either the Four Seasons or The Vineyard at Stockcross.

Day 3 

  • Get your fill of another Full English Breakfast
  • Day trip to the charming local village.
  • Have a hearty lunch at the Yew Tree Pub and wash it down with a cold pint of beer, just like the locals.
  • Afternoon tour of Highclere Castle of “Downton Abbey.” Try to control your excitement while you experience this stunning, Victorian castle in real life!

Set amongst 1,000 acres of parkland, the Carnarvon family has lived here since 1679, and the current Castle stands on the site of an earlier house, which in turn was built on the foundations of a medieval palace owned by the Bishops of Winchester for more than 800 years. Longstanding friend of the Carnarvon family, Julian Fellowes had Highclere Castle in mind as he wrote Downton Abbey. You will see: The saloon, library, dining room, music room, drawing room and smoking room.  Head up the red stairs to visit the bedrooms, gallery and grounds.

After the tour you will have time to visit the Egyptian exhibition, located in the castle cellars. While the castle was once occupied by the 5th Earl of Carnarvon,  the exhibit has been erected to celebrate his discovery of the Egyptian Pharaoh, Tutankhamun,  back in 1922.

Day 4 

  • Fuel up for the day with an extra helping of beans and toast at the Full English Breakfast
  • Your luggage will be loaded up and you will be taken on a scenic drive to the famous Windsor Castle
  • Take a tour of Windsor Castle
  • Enjoy lunch in the town of Windsor before departing to London
  • Arrive at Dukes hotel in the early afternoon
  • Check-in and refresh
  • You will be led on a leisurely, 2 hour, private guided walking tour titled “The Royals”
  • Spend an afternoon like a true Brit with tea at Dukes. Make sure to add the milk and sugar!
  • Spend the evening on your own, exploring the sights and sounds of London. Tower Bridge, Big Ben-the night is yours to decide.

Day 5 

  • Full English Breakfast
  • Start your morning with “The Royal Experience” which includes a  private tour of “The Tower of London”
  • A fitting finish to “The Royal Experience,” afternoon tea at “The Ritz.”
  • Free afternoon & evening to ride the London Eye, climb up St. Paul’s Cathedral or try Indian food on Brick Lane. It is entirely up to you to explore London your way.
  • Spend the night at The Dukes London.

Day 6

  • Free morning to explore
  • We depart via chauffeur to lunch at the “Lord Mayors Curry Lunch”

The ninth annual Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch will be held at London’s Guildhall to raise funds for ABF The Soldier’s Charity. The Lord Mayor of The City of London will host the Lunch, which over the last eight years has raised nearly £1.4 million for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity’s, helping soldiers and former soldiers who have served in Afghanistan and Iraq. Many of Britain’s elite are known to attend the curry lunch and you may find yourself rubbing shoulders with the likes of:

  • Senior officers of the British Army
  • Members of both Houses of Parliament
  • The Ministry of Defense ministerial team
  • Members of the Defense Select Committee
  • Recently-returned soldiers from Afghanistan and Iraq
  • A wide cross-section of City professionals and business leaders
  • Each year there is a Royal Guest of Honor, and this year it will be the HRH Princess Royal.

Attendees of the Lunch will be able to bid on “money can’t buy” prizes in the Silent Auction and Draw as well as have the opportunity to speak with some beneficiaries and meet a number of serving soldiers who have recently returned from tours of duty.The lunch starts at 12 noon and finishes at 3pm. Lunch includes delicious curries, as well as beer and wine.

  • The afternoon is free to shop on Jermyn Street, known for selling quality suits, hats and shoes.
  • Return to Dukes to refresh.
  • Enjoy another free evening to explore the streets of London.
  • Stay overnight at The Dukes London.

Day 7 

  • Full English Breakfast
  • Guests will be driven to the airport for a flight to Belfast at 11 am.
  • Flight to Belfast arrives at 1 pm.
  • Transfers from Belfast airport to Crom Castle in Fermanagh arrive 4 pm

This is where your Real Downton Abbey Experience starts as you will be greeted at the grand front door by the Earl of Erne. His staff will take your luggage up to your room and urge you to relax, unwind and be treated like one of the family. This exclusive experience is a truly unique and unusual chance to live in a working castle as guests of the Aristocracy for three days.

  • Check into your rooms and have a quick refresher.
  • At 4:45, you will be escorted down to the Conservatory and served a proper creamed tea, Irish Style.
  • Take a private tour of the Castle’s Main Home and West Wing property by the 7th Earl of Erne, John Crichton.
  • Relax and refresh
  • Drinks will be served to guests at 7:00
  • Dine and spend the evening chatting with the Earl as he hosts your stay in his beautiful 19th century castle with a full supporting team of staff to look after you for each day of your stay.
  • Enjoy a fully catered 4-course dinner in the Conservatory at 8 pm.
  • Stay overnight at Crom Castle.

Day 8 

  • A Full breakfast is served in the conservatory where everything is made to order. You can order a boiled egg with cut toast soldiers, a bowl of fruit or a full Irish Breakfast. It’s prepared by the staff to your liking each and every day.
  • At 10 am we leave from the estate’s west wing and depart over the garden and down a tree lined pathway to the beautiful boathouse. Here, a boat will pick us up to be escorted around the estate  for a 1 hour, private tour.
  • At 11:30 am, the optional morning walking tour and boat tour returns to Crom Castle/ National Trust Estate.
  • Take some time to refresh.
  • At 1:30-5 pm, there will be an afternoon tour and lunch at another local aristocratic home, Killyreagh where we get to meet the Earl’s cousin, Lord & Lady Anthony Hamilton.  Lunch will be served and Lady Anthony Hamilton will give a private guided tour of her gardens.
  • Return to Crom Castle to rest and refresh.
  • At 7:00 pm we begin the evening by meeting The Earl in his private residence of the castle for welcome drinks in the Grand Drawing room followed by a splendid Gala Dinner in the State Dining Room.
  • This dinner is a rare chance to converse with the Earl and possibly some of his family or special guests.
  • Stay overnight at Crom Castle.

Day 9 

  • Full Irish Breakfast
  • Free time in the morning to wander the estate, read a book in the yellow drawing room by the fire or sleep in.
  • At 10:30, depart for Castle Coole or Florence Court both splendid National Trust Properties.

Experience the stately grandeur of both these magnificent country seats set amongst  wooded landscapes. Castle Coole stands as one of Ireland’s most renowned Neo-classical houses, and allows guests to tour the service rooms and quarters of this property.

  • Around 12:30, there will be a walking tour of the island town of Enniskillen where we drop in for an Irish pint in Blakes Bar, (one of the oldest pubs in Ireland) before we move on for lunch in Café Merlot below. Lunch is served.
  • After lunch we have free time. Guests are offered the chance to arrange a game of golf at the nearby, renowned Lough Erne golf resort designed by Nick Faldo or maybe enjoy some shopping in Enniskillen or be pampered at the nearby Colbrooke Spa, home of  the Viscount & Viscountess Brookeborough.
  • Return to Crom Castle to rest and refresh.
  • Drinks are served at 7:30 pm.
  • Farewell Irish sendoff dinner and Irish Ceilidh (the ultimate Irish experience) in the Victorian Conservatory
  • Stay overnight at Crom Castle.

 

Day 10 

  • Full Irish Breakfast
  • Receive Farewell gifts
  • Transfers back to either Belfast or Dublin for return flights home.
  • End of Service.
